Workshops
Aerial Chains
In this Aerial Chains workshop students will learn to flow with chains in a variety of ways, including a drop or two (depending on their skill level), by way of gradual conditioning, as they familiarize themselves with the movement of the apparatus. Students may bring what they found online if they have a particular goal in mind.
This workshop is intended for students at any level of aerial skill, scalable based on the range of skill, but preferably those who have some measure of experience on aerial sling or loops.
Contortion & Flexibility
In this workshop students will be guided through a series of floor stretches for the first half of class and then take to the sky (in aerial contortion loops), letting gravity do the work to deepen stretches. The goal of this class is to develop strength and balance in side and straddle splits (both open and true) as well as deepen aerial back ends. Students who are able to invert on an aerial apparatus will likely get the most out of this class.
Aerial Straps
Students will learn the fundamentals of aerial straps as well as learn to utilize straps as contortion loops. Since aerial straps require varying degrees of upper body strength, students will learn conditioning techniques and strength-building exercises that they can use to develop independently for subsequent training sessions. Students are encouraged to attend with a goal in mind for more focused guidance.
Candid Conversation About Sex
These are all ideas and actions that play out heavily as we learn to dance and perform in the aerial arts. In the digital age where finding companionship is much harder, many women (and men) find it hard to navigate just how to be and do all of those things. One of the goals I have for Studieaux Heaux is to create a space where open communication can happen around taboo subjects like sex and personal sexuality. Having Eddie Danger at the studio to teach workshops gives us the perfect opportunity to have these conversations with a dude. Eddie is open and honest and has a perspective that I know will help us all think about sexuality in a new way.
Join us for snacks, wine and what promises to be a very stimulating conversation.
Running late for class? Students who are more than 5 minutes late to class will not be allowed to participate, and will forfeit that class pass. We recommend that students plan to arrive at the studio 10 minutes prior to the start of their class. This policy includes the FREE Intro classes, and all other classes, workshops and special events that require warm-up or special instruction at the beginning of class.
